Police release image of missing Wimborne man

Officers are renewing their appeal in the search for missing Wimborne man Neil Allen and issuing a CCTV image of one of the last confirmed sightings of him.

The 41-year-old was reported missing having last been seen on the evening of Tuesday 13 February 2024 in Leigh Road. It was subsequently reported that he had gone to the Spar store in Gordon Road at around 8.50pm that evening before visiting an address in Barnes Crescent and leaving there at around 9.20pm.

He is described as five feet 10 inches tall and with long brown hair and a full beard.

Chief Inspector David Parr, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing our efforts to locate Neil and we are appealing for anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please come forward.

“We are releasing a CCTV image showing one of the last confirmed sightings at the Spar store in Gordon Road in the hope that it might assist in jogging people’s memories if they have seen Neil in the local area.

“We have carried out various land and water based searches in the Wimborne area over recent days, with assistance from volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR) and Wessex Flood and Water Rescue. I also thank members of the public for assisting in their efforts to find Neil.

“We are continuing to explore a number of lines of enquiry and our search efforts are ongoing, they are being targeted based on the intelligence and information that comes into us, using specialist search assets including drones.

“I would also like to make a further direct appeal to Neil if you see this to please get in touch with us or your family as we want to make sure you are safe and well.”
