Officers investigating an alleged robbery in Poole are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 4.45pm on Tuesday 6 April 2021 the victim – a 19-year-old man from Poole – was walking while pushing an e-scooter in the area of Godmanstone Close and Sherborn Crescent when he noticed two men walking toward him.

It is reported that the two men shouted abuse at the victim, before taking his e-scooter. The victim tried to get it back, but was allegedly punched to the face.

One of the men reportedly pulled what is believed to be a knife out of his pocket and asked for the key to the e-scooter.

An 18-year-old man from Bournemouth and a 19-year-old Poole man were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

“I would urge residents or motorists to check their home CCTV systems or dashcams for any relevant footage to assist my enquiries.

“Finally, I am keen to hear from anyone who has seen an Evomotion folding Electric Scooter 2000W for sale locally in unusual circumstances.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210054045.
