Poole Boy Arrested Following Serious Stabbing Incident

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward as they investigate a reported serious assault in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.18pm on Sunday 26 April 2026 that a 16-year-old boy had been assaulted in the area of Maclean Road.

It was reported that the victim had sustained suspected stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious.

A full investigation was launched and a cordon was put in place to allow for an examination of the scene to be carried out. 

Following detailed enquiries, led by detectives from BCP CID, a 17-year-old boy from Poole and a 17-year-old boy from Bournemouth have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Neil Jones, of BCP CID, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries in relation to this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have information that might assist our investigation.

“I would also ask residents in the area with home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras, as well as motorists with a dashcam who were in the vicinity, to please review their footage for anything of relevance.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area and officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.”
