Penguin Cafe

Arthur Jeffes founded Penguin Cafe in 2009, bringing together a talented and disparate group of musicians, including members of Suede and Gorillaz, to perform his late father Simon’s renowned legacy of Penguin Cafe Orchestra music.

Ballet Cymru: Giselle

A brand-new interpretation of this ghost-filled ballet tells the tragic, romantic story of a young Welsh girl named Giselle, who falls in love but dies of heartbreak. Featuring Adolphe Adam’s original and hauntingly classical score, innovative choreography by Darius James OBE and Amy Doughty, exceptional and distinctive costumes and immersive video projections.

Studio Jazz: Diabel Cissokho Trio
Friday 13 June, 7.45pm, Sherling Studio

Diabel Cissokho is a visionary creative pushing the boundaries of the Senegalese sound, with his unique Afro-Mandingue Blues style. Diabel has spent the best part of his musical career exploring the blues roots of his griot traditions.

PP Arnold

PP Arnold is not a new kid on the block – she has been wowing audiences since she first came to the UK as an Ikette with Ike and Tina Turner back in the 1960s. Persuaded by Mick Jagger and Andrew Oldham to stay in the UK, she has sung alongside greats like The Rolling Stones, Small Faces, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, with her own band The Nice, and so many others. Her voice is stronger than ever, and her live band of amazing musicians keep her fire burning strong with breathtaking renditions of her classic hits, The First Cut Is The Deepest and Angel Of the Morning.

Stampin’ in the Graveyard

An immersive headphone experience that fuses poetry, live music and movement to draw the audience into an ephemeral apocalyptic world. Developed by award-winning company Saksi Bisou, the piece curiously explores our lived experiences of migration and exile. Age guidance: 12+
