Poole man due in court following death of man in collision

A man is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Poole.

A collision occurred at around 9.45am on Friday 24 June 2022 involving a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a pedestrian at the junction of Heckford Road and Wimborne Road.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the pedestrian – a man aged in his 80s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Very sadly, it was confirmed that he died in hospital on Monday 27 June 2022.

Following a detailed investigation by the traffic unit, a 44-year-old man from Poole has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 June 2023 for an offence of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
