Bournemouth’s new local radio has launched, playing the best songs on the radio and providing a local news and information service 24 hours a day.

Bournemouth One is now live with non-stop music sequences and a team of journalists providing updates on local news, weather, traffic, sports, and what’s on and notices every 20 minutes.

Instead of DJs and presenters, Bournemouth One announcers Glen Hunt, Lorna Child and David Harber bring together all the local elements with a short 20/20 update at 20 past and 20 to the hour, plus a local news bulletin each hour.

News Editor Andy Diprose is on duty each morning providing updates from 6am, supported by a team of journalists during the day.
Broadcaster Glen Hunt, who has worked on radio stations including Heart and BBC Local, is on each morning. He’s also part of the Most Haunted television programme team as the Open Minded Sceptic.

In the afternoons, local author and podcaster Lorna Clarke will help keep the news and information flowing between midday and 6 p.m. Lorna has also been heard most recently on Hot Radio in Poole.

David Harber, who co-founded Bournemouth’s Fire Radio (now part of the national Hits Radio network), is on each evening, introducing updates into the night.

Lorna Child says, “I’m absolutely thrilled and super excited to hear the voice of afternoons, working alongside such talented people on a fantastic new radio station for the area.”

As a commercial station, advertising and sponsorship packages are available, with Bournemouth One already welcoming on board partners including PRC Streamline Taxis, Bournemouth Pier, SnowTrax and Box Balloons.

Bournemouth One is now available via online platforms including Alexa smart speakers, iPhone and Android apps, TuneIn and the website at BournemouthOne.com.
