Radipole Primary School in Weymouth marks its 50th anniversary this summer and is keen to get in touch with past pupils, staff and parents so they can take part in the celebrations.

A series of events and projects are planned on and around 14 June 2013, including an exhibition of school photos and mementos from the past five decades, an art project involving a local artist and pupils, tours of the school, classroom activities and an evening fundraiser.

Organisers would very much like to hear from past pupils and teachers who have photos and items from their time at Radipole which could be used in the exhibition.

Radipole’s Headteacher Veronique Singer said everyone was very excited about celebrating this special milestone.

She said: “We know that a lot of past pupils and staff still live locally so it would be wonderful to get as many of them together as possible to celebrate the occasion and share their memories of their time at Radipole.

“Many of our current pupils have family members who went to Radipole and some families have several generations connected with the school. The children are really keen to get involved and learn more about the school’s history.”

If you would like to find out more about the anniversary events, or have any photos or mementos to share, please contact the school on 01305 783353 or [email protected].

The school has also set up a Facebook page to spread the word about events and keep people up to date – you can find it at www.facebook.com/radipole50 .
