The counts for the Boomtown Fair salvage are finally in! All in all we managed to collect around 1300 tents and 800 sleeping bags as well as a couple of hundredcamping chairs, some blankets and some tarps. Most of the tents and sleeping bags have already been shipped down to Calais and Dunkirk where they’ll be put to good use providing warmth and shelter to the refugees there.
MASSIVE thanks and congratulations to the amazing volunteers from Help Refugees, Mobile Refugee Support, Dunkirk / Dunkerque Refugee Women’s Centre, Herts For Refugees, Refugee Compassion and Blandford CARES who came down to salvage equipment which has now been successfully diverted away from landfill and into the hands of the people who need it most – you’re an inspiration to us all!
