Well known in Israel and effectively not known everywhere else is that Israel has created a “Ministry of Strategic Affairs”, dedicated to making war on the BDS movement and its supporters (and I’m sure people like JEREMY CORBYN) with a budget of $50 million USD. It is designed to counter BDS social media material and organizations with its own propaganda spread by a virtual army of paid internet trolls. Worse though is the use of slanderous attacks, dirty tricks and efforts at extortion against supporters of BDS. These same trolls are used worldwide to load up social media sites with defamatory posts to discredit, slander and intimidate supporters of BDS and critics of Israel, and create funded “grass roots movements”.

Some quotes from article:

(Vaknin-Gil Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs stated:)
“I want to create a community of fighters,” Vaknin-Gil said soon after her appointment to the strategic affairs ministry.

She said she planned to “flood the internet” with Israeli propaganda that would be publicly distanced from the government.

Vaknin-Gil conceded that BDS activists’ human rights arguments are so compelling at the grassroots in Europe and the US that “over there, unless we will do something, we will lose.”

Israel’s parliament in July gave preliminary approval to a bill exempting the strategic affairs ministry from the freedom of information law.

(Minister) Erdan argued for the bill, which his ministry drafted, claiming that BDS was a “battlefront like any other” and there was a need to keep “our methods of action secret.”

More about the Israeli Ministry of Strategic affairs, with a budget of $50 million, entirely dedicated to a war on BDS and its suppporters.
