Roger Waters, co-founder and primary songwriter of Pink Floyd, is to bring his groundbreaking masterpiece, Roger Waters The Wall, to cinemas across the globe including Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, on Tuesday September 29.

Tickets for the rock film event of the year go on sale tomorrow, Friday 19 June.

In fusingthe epic and the personal Roger Waters The Wall is a concert film that goes well beyond the stage. Based on the groundbreaking concept album, Roger Waters The Wall could be called a ‘concept film’ asit unfolds on many levels – as an immersive concert experience of the classic Pink Floyd album, a road movie of Waters’ reckoning with the past and as a stirring anti-war film, highlighting the human cost of conflict.

Roger Waters said: ”I hope these worldwide screenings this coming 29 September will be a good opportunity to remember, not just our fallen loved ones, but all the other guys’ fallen loved ones. Ashes and diamonds foe and friend we were all equal in the end.”

Roger Waters The Wall was shot in 4K and mixed in Dolby Atmos during Waters’ sold-out 2010-2013 The Wall Live tour, seen by more than four million fans worldwide. It features never before seen concert footage, including the hits Another Brick in the Wall Part 2, Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell.

After the film screening comes a very special event – The Simple Facts, a unique opportunity to see Roger Waters and his Pink Floyd bandmate Nick Mason reunited, unscripted and in conversation to answer questions submitted by fans from around the world.
