Detectives investigating an alleged armed robbery in Bournemouth have charged seven people.

At around 12pm on Thursday 14 March 2019 Dorset Police received a report of a robbery at Franses Jewellers in Westover Road involving a number of men on two mopeds and a motorcycle.

Nobody was injured during the incident. A quantity of jewellery items were reportedly stolen.

A detailed investigation was launched involving detectives from Dorset Police with support from the Met’s Operation Venice team, which tackles moped enabled crime.

A 27-year-old man from London has been charged with robbery, threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place and dangerous driving.

A 25-year-old London man has been charged with robbery, threatening a person with a bladed/sharply pointed article in a public place and dangerous driving.

A 26-year-old London man has been charged with robbery and aggravate vehicle taking.

A 31-year-old Bournemouth man, a 52-year-old Bournemouth woman, 26-year-old London man and a 26-year-old man of an unknown address have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

All seven people are due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 13 April 2019.
