Steve Knightley is the song writing force behind the phenomenally successful acoustic duo Show of Hands. Ahead of their headline appearance at Sidmouth Folk Week, Steve will perform a solo gig in Thorncombe, near Chard on Saturday, 30th July.
As well as a fine singer and musician, Steve’s songs ‘Country Life’ and ‘Roots’ were both nominated for the coveted Best Original Song category in the BBC Radio2 Folk Awards, which Steve won with his widely acclaimed song aimed at bankers and MPs – ‘Arrogance, Ignorance and Greed’.

Show of Hands are a familiar and hugely popular West Country band, and Steve himself is known to many in West Dorset having lived here and taught at Beaminster School. Their annual one-day festival at Abbotsbury Gardens is always sold out, and they have just announced that tickets for their gig at the royal Albert Hall next April are now on sale.

Sponsored by local skin care company Lovegrove Essentials Ltd, Steve Knightley In Concert starts at 8 pm Saturday 30th July. Gates open at 7 pm and guests can bring a picnic. Tea and cakes will be served during the interval. It is a strictly TICKET ONLY event and numbers are limited to 50. Tickets can be bought online at www.lovegroveessentials.com or call 07541 587 668 for more information.
