The official Conservative facebook page has declared Ted Heath a Socialist. Not content with the rumours of his liking for young people and the establishment’s reticence for opening a proper investigation whilst the present generation still has the capacity to inhale they now want to make him out as a saint. Instead of accepting that he was a plummy capitalist who could not work out who ‘governed Britain’ we now have to consider the option that the 6 day war didn’t occur; that the Arabs weren’t pissed off with the west for siding with Israel and that the oil crisis at OPEC was a figment of our imagination. Instead it was all those ghastly people demanding improvements to their daily lives.
Bless those Conservatives for telling a good yarn.
