The Weymouth Bid launched Alice’s Weymouth Adventure Trail in April in an attempt to encourage more local people and visitors into Weymouth, to explore and discover as much as possible about the area.   It is one of the aims of the BID’s business plan to encourage more people into Weymouth for them to enjoy the area and spend money in the town with local businesses and attractions.

The Trail was celebrated on 26 April at a Mad Hatters Tea Party in St Mary Street Weymouth where many Alice in Wonderland characters visited the town and had tea with local children and businesses.

The Trail competition ended on the 6thSeptember and the lucky winner of an ipad Air was Tracey Snelling who lives in Thornton Heath, South London.  Ms Snelling said “I am thrilled, I used to live in Dorset but now I have a holiday home here and I was able to collect my prize during one of my many visits.  The Trail was excellent and really made you look at the buildings in Weymouth, we did the trail in three sections and some of the questions really made you think.”

Nigel Reed, Weymouth BID Manager said “Alice’s Weymouth Adventure Trail was funded by the Weymouth BID then designed and written by local company ‘Treasure Trails Dorset’. We have had some great feedback including one Grandmother who told us that the trail was so amazing they returned four times with their 8 year old daughter to complete the Trail, they said that the Trail was brilliant work and great fun for the school holidays.”

The Weymouth BID will be funding and organising more Visitor experiences during the Autumn and Winter.
