The Dolphins build a bridge over troubled water

King Karim on the rampage!

On Saturday, the mighty Dolphins laboured to a 2-1 home win over Southern League South West 1 rivals Bridgwater Town. The result could have been very much different had Bridgy made their dominance of the first quarter count. A disallowed goal after 3 minutes, which was followed by a penalty on 6 minutes, after Poole’s Captain fantastic, Michael Walker, was adjudged to have handled the ball, Bridgwater’s Craig Veal slotted the ball away with aplomb sending the away support, all five of them, into shear ecstasy. The Dolphins finally woke up but failed to break through the Bridgewater defence, with pocket rocket Steve Devlin the only one to really test the visiting keeper. Half time score 0-1.

I would imagine Poole Town will need to get the decorators in to re-paint the home dressing room walls, not so much of the hair dryer treatment but more paint stripping! However, it didn’t take too long for it to take the desired effect. New signing Adam Kelly, cooly slotted home after pin point pass from Simon ‘the ginger warrior’ Baines. Three minutes later King Karim Lammali scored with a sublime finish for his second goal this season. Poole threatened to score a third but it wasn’t to follow. Bridgwater hit the post late on with a Brazil-esque free kick, but it was to be the Dolphins day and move three points clear at the top of the league.
