The Dorset Scenery Column

There’s not many things that make me feel better than sitting at the top of a cliff looking out over a calm sea, watching the sun slowly rise up over the horizon. A bliss silence all around me, apart from the odd tweet of a bird, that is until I hear the sound of trickling down my leg. Yep, while I was taking my photographs my dog ‘Buddy’ had decided to take a toilet break. Welcome to my life! I was born in the midlands but moved to Dorset at an early age. Im sure that move made me appreciate what’s around me. Everyone that doesn’t live by the sea, wants to live by the sea. We don’t know how lucky we are! (well unless there is a large tidal wave). There is so much scenery in Dorset, so many historic places that tell stories from generations ago. Oh and not a single mile of motorway! Dorset it also technically the sunniest county in Britain. As you can see I have done my research. Anyway, I created DorsetScenery to capture some of the best photographs from around the county. From a sunset over Portland Bill to a sunrise over Durdle Door. I then put these images onto canvas, making beautiful additions to any room. I also put them onto mugs with a message, or coasters. Check out our face book page Dorset Scenery or our website www.dorsetscenery.co.uk for more information on how to order and to check out our pictures available…

I am doing this column weekly to update you on where me and Buddy have been. I’ll try to make it interesting and hopefully not offend anyone.

I’ll let you into what I do and what has happened while I am out/been out out taking my shots, whether its chasing after buddy when he spots a rabbit, to getting chased across a field by an angry cow while trying to get a shot near Lulworth. I hope to make you laugh, but also to inspire people to get out there and explore a little. Have a little adventure. You don’t need a camera like me, you just need a good pair of legs and a woolly hat in winter.

I will post another update next week and hopefully you can all get into it. Until then keep an eye out for angry cows!
