The Reverend Ian Paisley,
a man of irony and contradiction.
As a record label owner perhaps
his biggest success was the signing
of Prince and the Revolution.

As a songwriter famed for his verbal
negativity he co-wrote the chorus to
that famous ditty ‘The Irish Rover’;
‘NO, NAE, NEVER!’

He almost single-handedly supported
the British cycling industry by constantly
urging his supporters to hold Raleighs.

Known for his wit and religious tolerance
he once laughed and joked
with his friend the Pope
by calling him the Aunt of Christ on their
celebrated visit to the European Parliament.

The Right Reverend Ian Paisley is survived.
