“In the end how do we judge a society but by how we treat the poorest and most vulnerable, not how much dead wealth we can personally accumulate.  And in that the disease of our Tory run county”.

Independent candidate, with no large scale national political back-up, demolished Poole Tory council leader Janet Walton (aka shadow BCP leader) by 2 to 1.

“Leading Liberal Democrat Vikki Slade of Poole told Mr Farrant she intended to put together a plan in coalition with others”.

Well said Cllr Vikki Slade – mandate 2,899 from Broadstone – compared with Janet lets all merge into a Tory super-state Walton, wiped out in Oakdale with lowest vote of all standing Cllrs.

And very well said Independent Christchurch Cllr David Flagg “”Why on earth would we be prepared to help prop up a Tory administration that sold our borough down the river? Spot on Cllr Flagg.

And likewise Poole People Mark Howell in Poole. Asked if Poole People would consider a partnership with the Conservatives, Cllr Howell said:“No is the simple answer.” Well said Mark Howell. Spot on.

And Labour Secretary Patrick Canavan, very well said again : “These results have been a devastating blow to the Conservatives who have had things their own way for far too long. This ends now. We will take very opportunity to put this council back in the hands of the people.” Exactly – twenty years waiting for this opportunity.

This is all VERY hopeful – I hope you can put together an alliance.

Look at the figures in the election and I think you will find of all candidates non-Tory votes (Lib Dems, Poole People. Indes, Labour, Greens, UKIP) outvoted the Tories by far in excess of 2 to 1 : more than twice as many voted for other parties than the Tories.

And yes 100% we need a new start with a new administration.

I don’t see how the case against the Tories could be more thunderously resounding. Poole leader Janet Walton, shadow leader of our brand new BCP council, could not have been more massively outvoted in her ward – miserable 527 votes (the lowest of all standing Cllrs) to Peter Miles Poole People 1,406, and Inde Felicity Rice 1,119.

An Independent, with no large scale national political back-up, demolishes Poole Tory council leader (aka shadow BCP leader) by 2 to 1.

How could the electorate be clearer. We are appalled – merger forced on us all like it or not, clearly Christchurch outraged; mass decimation of public services (all our public bogs in Poole closed down); downgrading of Poole A&E to a doctors surgery albeit a 24/7 surgery; closure of Poole maternity with an outstanding national reputation; swimming pool and adult education and much more driven out of B’mouth town to remote areas; in Poole the Dolphin swimming complex with last diving pit in Dorset to be demolished; you name it market driven Tories will destroy it.

We surely want towns run for the people (as Christchurch was run for the people of Christchurch) not for John Hospitality Solutions Beesley’s mass tourist industry, the “night time economy” part alone doing enormous irreparable damage to Bournemouth.

I very much hope all parties, Lib Dems, Poole People, Independents, Labour, Greens, and UKIP, will be able to work together – and including community minded Conservatives, as against hard core Tories committed to destruction of public services. We need affordable housing, fair rents, fully funded schools, community police, and so much more … all destroyed by beggar your neighbour hard core me first Tories:

Examples : Poole Tory candidate Craig Allison – when asked refused in the election to say which area he lived in. Said he wouldn’t normally “grace such a query with a reply” – and this from a candidate who wants to be our Cllr. But then classic hard core Tory – runs wealth fund management in Canford Cliffs. Clearly does not live in or near our Newtown and Heatherlands ward with not a grain of interest in our area.

Example – Tory hedge fund manager Crispy Odey the morning has gold in its mouth – made £220 million on Brexit night 2016, playing the market in league with chum Nigel Farage and others. The world of Tory beggar my neighbour. And so it is the going rate for 21st century Toryism.

We need towns run in the interest of the people of our towns – focus on public services would be a very good start. A far fairer society. As it is now we have the homeless (in their hundreds) in B’mouth and Poole branded beggars and penalised for “occupying public space” in possession of a “flat cap”. How outrageous – in possession of a flat cap.  And Tories running our councils – wiping 5,000 off housing list in 2012 – see nothing amiss.

In the end how do we judge a society but by how we treat the poorest and most vulnerable, not how much dead wealth we can personally accumulate.  And in that the disease of our Tory run county.
