Personally, I wouldn’t watch this mindless crap if you paid me, but the walking dead love it. Thus, if one is going to announce it, then this just about sticks to the OFCOM rules.

Just some of the reasons Matthew Hancock is to trust what lemon juice is to eye drops:

  1. Handling of the COVID-19 pandemic: Matt Hancock faced criticism for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK. This included concerns about the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers, the government’s testing and contact tracing system, and the timing and effectiveness of lockdown measures.
  2. Contract awards: There were allegations of cronyism and favouritism in the awarding of government contracts related to the pandemic, including contracts for PPE procurement and the development of a contact tracing app. Critics argued that some of these contracts were awarded to individuals or companies with close ties to the Conservative Party, raising questions about transparency and fairness.
  3. Personal conduct: In June 2021, Matt Hancock faced a personal scandal when CCTV footage was leaked showing him violating COVID-19 social distancing guidelines by kissing and embracing an aide in his government office. This led to calls for his resignation on the grounds of hypocrisy, as he had been a strong advocate for social distancing measures.
  4. Overall handling of the Health Department: Beyond the pandemic, Hancock faced criticism for the overall management of the National Health Service (NHS) and social care during his tenure as Health Secretary.

Outside of OFCOM rules is, of course, where the reality really lies.
