Twenty new jobs to be created at ODEON Bournemouth BH2

Due to the success of ODEON Bournemouth BH2’s flagship cinema at the BH2 Leisure complex, it is recruiting 20 new members of staff to join the growing team.

Since opening in February, the venue has welcomed over half a million guests who have enjoyed the state-of-the-art ISENSE screen and luxury recliner seats. At the time, ODEON recruited over 50 new members of staff to work at the venue and has been listed as one of the Sunday Times ‘30 Best Big Companies to Work For’. Positions available at ODEON Bournemouth include cinema host and barista roles at the 10-screen cinema.

Richard Rowe, general manager, added: “We are looking to recruit 20 new people to support the great work that our current team members do as they welcome each customer to ODEON Bournemouth BH2.

“For us, it is all about being able to provide the best possible experience to every film fan before and after our screenings and we are hoping to find people from across to Dorset to support that aim.”

Special features at ODEON Bournemouth BH2, which has previously been described as one of the ‘flagship’ cinemas by Carol Welch, managing director of ODEON UK and Ireland, include an ISENSE screen, reclining seats and a kids’ screen with a soft play area to enhance the cinema experience for families.

As part of ODEON’s commitment to ensureall premises and facilities are accessible for everyone, the newly designed cinema was built so that all 10 screens are wheelchair accessible. A lowered ticket machine and counter have also been installed, while there are improved audio description facilities and induction loops available in all screens following customer feedback.

Richard added: “We have also increased the number of subtitled film screenings available, including a kids’ option every Saturday and Sunday morning at 10.15am, which costs £2.50 per person. Being such an accessible cinema is a real asset to us.”

ODEON Bournemouth BH2 continues to work with the charity, Dimensions, to provide Autism Friendly Screenings on select Sundays. Sensory friendly film adjustments include allowing people to move around during the film, the sound and lighting is turned to low, no trailers are shown, and cinema goers can enjoy their own food anddrink.
