Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two people stole food produce from outside a pub in East Dorset.

Between 7.15am and 8.30am on Tuesday 30 January 2024, a man and woman, who appeared to be dressed as delivery drivers, stole eight containers of rapeseed oil and a delivery of frozen fish from outside the Red Lion Inn in Church Street in Sturminster Marshall.

It is reported that the offenders pulled up outside the pub in a white Mercedes Vito van wearing hi-vis jackets and carrying an empty blue oil barrel. They then proceeded to load the full oil containers and frozen fish into the back of the van before driving away. The total value of the stolen items is around £500.

The man is described as being of Asian descent, skinny build, with short, black skin-faded hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top with a white inner lining.

The woman is described as being of Asian descent, medium build, with long blonde-brown hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a burgundy gilet and a light-coloured hooded top.

Both offenders are described as aged between 30 and 35 and were wearing hi-vis jackets over their clothing.

Police Constable Christopher Window, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident, or saw two people acting suspiciously in the vicinity around the relevant time, to please come forward.

“Also, I would ask motorists travelling in the vicinity of Church Street to please check their dashcam footage for anything that may show the two offenders in the area.”
