Unite or die

There are four groups in the Left and at least three need to shut up and stop bickering in order for the fourth to join them. We are facing a political car crash of historic proportions and instead of uniting and fighting it the whingers are too busy whinging to stop it happening.

The four groups

Group 1: At the top of the Labour Party, elected by a huge majority, you have Jeremy Corbyn and his team. I’m among the quarter of a million people who joined the party because I suddenly saw a genuine alternative to the lunatic right who are currently destroying the State piece by piece for their own profit.

Group 2: To the far right of them, you have the old Blair-created establishment who seem to be solely focused on destroying the leadership. Yes, Blairites – expel me from the party for calling you that if you wish, but I’m in the fourth group so couldn’t care less right now.

Group 3: To the left of the leadership you have the loony left. One of these somewhat addled people explained to me proudly that while Jeremy Corbyn knows him by name he doesn’t vote as voting doesn’t change things. If you left the mind altering substances alone you may just see a change.

Group 4: The fourth group is one I have recently joined. We are a mixture of all three shades of left from bluish purple to crimson red. We do vote at times – call us the semi-affiliated voting public if you wish. We won’t campaign or support a party beyond the minimum, to include in my case funding Momentum and Labour, until the whingers stop whinging and we unite behind the sole cause we have today. You’ve lost us until you do.

Cause? What cause?

In my eyes the infighting is such that the only cause for the champagne socialist Blairites is a Tory Britain with no welfare state and a health insurance based healthcare system, much less a state of any consequence. To become a dirty little offshore tax haven with a huge stratification between the underclass and middle class. Of course, the Blairites are middle class so will survive the privations brought about by the Tories raping the country like a crack whore. They don’t give a cuss, as long as they can be in power one day, steering the Thatcher created political machine from one disaster for the underclass to the next.

Meanwhile we have the true left who give a monkey’s turd about those at the bottom and don’t believe this twaddle about ‘trickle down economics’. Because the self-interested Blairites did a job on Corbyn in the media they have set public opinion in stone and even if Jeremy was the Second Coming there would be little chance of the right of this lot ever voting for the party. For the true believers in Group 1 it is a case of singing “We Shall Overcome” as the media twats them round the head every so often to keep them in their place.

Group 3? They smoke lots of weed, drink lots of booze and talk of violent revolution one day as they destroy their minds. Funnily enough guys, you could make the Blairites irrelevant in the party if you left the weed and booze alone and started voting. You never know – you may not be needed to put your lives on the line in the revolution!

Oh, sorry, I’m meant to be talking about the one cause we have. Yes, the rather minor and somewhat irrelevant issue of destroying the Conservatives and presenting a viable alternative to their years of rape and pillage of all we hold dear. In Group 4 we breathe a sigh of relief when we see unity, but that is so brief one practically needs the sensing mechanisms used to spot the Higgs Boson particle in the Large Hadron Collider. It sickens me to the core that I have to see this awful car crash happening.

Schoolyard tactics

Again, at acute risk of being expelled from the party for the crime of criticising the Blairite establishment within it, I’m writing this as a plea for people to stop scoring points in favour of their own interests and to start pushing a unified voice to end the horrendous attacks on all we hold dear. The end is coming and honestly, the party is set for heavy defeat unless the whingers shut up and get behind the leadership.

I can’t bear to see the destruction of the NHS, the dreadful attacks on the disabled and welfare state, or the loony right running amok with the UK constitution and position in the world. Yet I hear rumbles of internal revolt in the party as the soft right Blarites prepare for one last hurrah to end the idea of the poor having some sort of control. To drive more people into Group 4 or Group 3 forever just so they can one day continue Thatcherism.

Schoolyard tactics? In one memorable moment at school my Housemaster grabbed me by the head and that of my best friend and cracked our heads together. Physically stunned we shut up (and went about our rebellion as a united force once again). The two active factions in Labour sorely need that right now.

Time to wake up and smell the beans guys.

Rant over.
