If you live, work or visit Weymouth Town Centre and Harbourside then why not join a virtual tour of the area this September and give your views on what makes this part of the town unique?

You can have your say on which areas and buildings you most admire, and which parts could be improved. Your opinions will help to shape future neighbourhoods in Weymouth by developing a set of design codes for developers. The codes encourage good design reflecting the unique character of the area.

Each virtual tour will cover a different part of central Weymouth, including Northern (Train station and Swannery car park), Southern (Peninsula and Brewers Quay), Western (Harbourside including North Quay Offices) and Eastern area (Town Centre).

The four workshops are being held as part of the Weymouth Neighbourhood Plan design code work which is part of the Government’s Pathfinders programme. The tours run from September 21st to 27th, and it’s easy to pre-register an online place using the Eventbrite links below:

Cllr David Northam, Chair of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, said: “It’s vital that we get the views of the local community involved in shaping future developments in our coastal town, including new homes, buildings, and amenities such as shops and workspaces.

“The outcome will be a design code that takes on board the opinions of people who live, work, and visit Weymouth so please join one of the workshops and share your thoughts and ideas whilst taking a virtual tour of Weymouth.”
