Officers investigating an alleged theft of cooking oil are appealing for any potential victims to come forward.

On the morning of Tuesday 11 of April 2023 at around 2.30am officers stopped a transit van in Barrack Road, Christchurch.

During the search of the vehicle nine large drums containing various amounts of oil as well as four smaller drums full of oil were located. The oil is believed to be cooking oil.

A 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old man, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of theft and going equipped. They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Lexie Holgate, of Dorset Police, said: “We are making a number of enquiries to establish where the oil has come from.

“I am appealing for anyone who believes they have been a victim of cooking oil theft or anyone with relevant information to please come forward.”
