Laura Culshaw was appointed as the Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce Business Co-ordinator in October 2011 but has now decided to give up her post at the Chamber to focus on her career in the Marketing Dept at Weymouth College and to complete her studies with the Chartered Institute of Marketing to study for her Marketing Diploma.

Laura said I have really enjoyed my time at the Chamber and I have met some inspiring and dynamic business people from around the local area. It’s been great to be involved in the campaigns which the Chamber has organised over the last two years such as the return of Condor Ferries and supporting the Weymouth BID. The Chamber is well established within the business world of Weymouth and Portland and I’m sure it will continue to thrive and maintain its position as the ‘voice of the local business community under the president, Mark Blunden.

President of the Chamber of Commerce Mark Blunden said “ Laura added a new dimension to the Chamber with her Marketing experience particularly in social media together with her sparkling personality. Laura was a very popular addition to the team and we will miss having her around. We wish her luck with her CIM Diploma and her career plans.’’

The role will be taken over by Nikki Franklin who will assume the post as from 1 May 2013.

The Weymouth & Portland Chamber of Commerce will announce the new appointment at its regular business breakfast on 7 May at the Rendezvous, Weymouth.  The Annual Presidents Ball will be held on 11thMay and tickets are still available from www.wpchamber.co.uk .
