Weymouth BID Host “ Freaky Streets” Half Term Event

With just two weeks until the October half term, Weymouth BID is busy organising this year’s Halloween event ‘Freaky Streets’ & ‘Freaky Friday’.  This event has been created and funded entirely by the Weymouth BID.

‘Freaky Streets’, will run from 25th – 31st October, will lead families around the town in a hunt to find the ‘Freaky Streets’ characters and other spooky objects! Clues will task competitors to find 20 vinyl prints positioned on the outside of buildings throughout the town, which, when darkness descends, will emit an eerie glow… Winning entries will go into a draw for prizes.

Helping to launch this year’s event, the team at Steven May Hair Design entered the ‘spirit’ by looking pretty ‘Freaky’ for our photographer. Owner Stephen Wait said “ After coming so close to winning the ‘Best Window Display’ last year, we were keen to take part again and the team are determined to win. It’s great to hear that there are over 30 businesses putting in window displays for half term and dressing up on ‘Freaky Friday’.”

To celebrate Halloween on ‘Freaky Friday’ 31st October, there will be a host of entertainment and activities taking place in Weymouth between 10am and 4pm. Including a ‘Freaky’ skateboarding display and workshop, storytelling, balloon making and hula hoop displays as well as a chance for children to join in ‘Freaky’ pavement art, ‘Freaky’ circus skills, plus a ‘Freaky’ fancy dress competition with prizes.

Mr Reed went on the say “ Many businesses will be running events over half term, like special promotions, discounts and child offers with ‘Freaky’ in-store promotions, demonstrations and spooky activities on ‘Freaky Friday’.   We want as many people as possible to come into Weymouth to enjoy the fun during Half Term.”
