Everyman (15)

Doors 6pm / starts 7pm

£10 + 50p bf* advance / £12 on the door

£10 + 80p bf in advance from seetickets.com

BAFTA winner and Academy Award® nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) takes the title role in this dynamic new production of one of English drama’s oldest plays, directed by the National Theatre’s new Director Rufus Norris (Broken, London Road).

Everyman is successful, popular and riding high when Death comes calling. He is forced to abandon the life he has built and embark on a last, frantic search to recruit a friend, anyone, to speak in his defence. But Death is close behind, and time is running out.

One of the great primal, spiritual myths, Everyman asks whether it is only in death that we can understand our lives. A cornerstone of English drama since the 15th century, it now explodes onto the stage in a startling production with words by Carol Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate, and movement by Javier De Frutos.

Film: Slow West (15)

Doors 7pm / starts 8pm

£6 (£5.70+ 30p bf) advance* / £6 on the door

£6 + 60p bf in advance from seetickets.com

At once hilarious and brutal, this off-kilter revisionist western follows Jay (Kodi Smit-McPhee), a naive young man stumbling across late 1800s America in search of his sweetheart.

With his Walden-esque guide to surviving the Canadian frontier, Jay takes a rather cerebral, and it must be said, ineffective approach to navigating the travails of his romantic quest. Luckily for him, along the way he has his neck saved by laconic bounty hunter Silas (Michael Fassbender).

With its gallows humour, pitched equally between slapstick and the grotesque, gorgeous visuals and elliptical cutting, we immediately know we are in for something out of the ordinary.

A regular MC at gigs around the country, Hayley’s natural warmth and girl-next-door charm make her impossible to dislike, something which has become evident in her success in new act competitions throughout the UK.

This summer, Hayley performed at the Edinburgh Festival as part of The Comedy Zone, the Fringe’s longest running and most prestigious stand-up showcase. Following great success at the festival, Hayley has also won Hull Comedian of the Year. Hayley will be taking her first solo show to Edinburgh in 2014.
