Why do chemical weapons in Syria produce international outrage but Tomahawk missiles don’t?

Why are suicide bombers objects of loathing and disgust while pilots strafing children on beaches from the safety of F-16s are war heroes?

Why do those self-righteous demands of “but we must do something” never extend to demanding bereft and damaged children are admitted to the safety of our shores?

Why does Saudi Arabia slaughtering Yemeni children produce only silence from 10

Downing Street while Assad triggers a furious cacophony of sabre rattling?

Why can’t you hear the wails of the bereaved in Gaza but can dance to the drums of war beating on the other side of the Atlantic?

Why do you ignore starving children here but bat not an eyelid about raining down endless millions of pounds of hi-tech weaponry on yet another Middle Eastern country?

Why are states and their armies the legitimate enforcers of law but their desperate, dispossessed and stateless victims are terrorists?

Why is the slaughter of children either acceptable or not depending simply on the method of their extinction? Or the colour of their skin…

Why do you allow others to set your moral and political compass?

What the fuck is wrong with you?
