Stop the Attacks on Gaza! Stop Arming Israel!

Rally & March on Eaton Mission Systems

Saturday 27 January, Assemble Wimborne Town Centre, Crown Mead Park, 10.30 am

Over 25,000 people have died in Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza strip, including 10,000 children. Over 8,000 are missing, feared dead. 85% of the population, 1.7 million people, have been displaced. The UN have declared famine conditions.

The Israeli military systematically target civilians, destroying hospitals, water supplies, bakeries, schools, mosques and churches. Two-thirds of all buildings in the north of Gaza and 33% of buildings across the strip have been destroyed.

The UK government has regularly approved the export of weapons and military technology to Israel, including weapons systems now used in the genocidal onslaught on Gaza.

Eaton Mission Systems – arms for Israel’s genocidal attacks on Gaza

Eaton Mission Systems supplies parts for the Sikorsky UH-60 “Black Hawk” helicopter, the Lockheed Martin C-130 transport, and the Sikorsky CH53-K helicopter used in the mass targeting and killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Between 2008 and 2021 Eaton (previously Cobham Mission Systems) applied for 72 licenses to export military equipment to Israel; all were approved.

The campaign

Dorset Palestine Solidarity Campaign (Dorset PSC) and Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole Palestine Solidarity are calling a rally and march in Wimborne.

Local organiser of Saturdays rally, Jo, explained:

“I feel I must do something. I simply can’t watch silently whilst human beings suffer and die. I’m horrified that a factory in my peaceful Dorset town makes parts which enable these planes to commit genocide. Gaza may be thousands of miles away but there are direct links to Wimborne. We need to protest to demonstrate our shared humanity”.

We demand:

·      An end to all arms supplies to Israel

·      An immediate and permanent ceasefire

The rally will include speakers from local trade unions, PSC, anti-racism campaigners and Palestinians. A march will be held through the town centre ending at Eaton Mission Systems factory in Brook Road. All welcome.
