Officers investigating an assault where a man was knocked unconscious in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 8.38pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019 of a man with injuries on Chickerell Road at the junction with Marsh Road.

It is reported that the victim – a man aged in his 30s and from Weymouth – was assaulted by another man.

The victim was knocked unconscious and sustained a head injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The offender is described as white and of stocky build. He was riding a mountain bike, which had two individual LED lights on the front.

Police Constable Andy Dickinson, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the area at the time and may have captured anything relevant on dashcam.”
