Witness appeal following serious injury to cyclist in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

At 2.01pm on Tuesday 3 September 2019 it was reported that a collision occurred involving a blue Ford Mondeo and a cyclist at the Boundary Roundabout.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 30s, sustained what are believed to be life-changing injuries and was taken to Poole Hospital by the ambulance service.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

Road closures have been put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the collision.

Police Constable Mark Burton, of the traffic unit, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision to please get in touch.

“I would urge any motorists who captured anything of relevance on dashcam to come forward.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience during the road closures, which have been absolutely necessary to allow us to respond to the incident and for a detailed examination of the scene to take place.”
