A woman is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Lyme Regis.

At 4.38pm on Tuesday 29 June 2021 Dorset Police was called to reports of a collision on Broad Street involving a Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian – a man aged in his 80s from Bristol – sustained serious injuries and sadly died in hospital on Sunday 4 July 2021.

Following a detailed investigation by the traffic unit, a 74-year-old woman from Birmingham has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 June 2022 for an offence of causing death by careless driving.
