Woman Charged Following Drugs Stop in Dorchester

A woman is due to appear in court following a late-night drugs stop by police in Dorchester.

Officers on patrol in the town stopped a vehicle on Kings Road after becoming suspicious of its occupants. The car and the two women inside were subsequently searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

During the search, officers discovered and seized what police described as a substantial quantity of cannabis along with a quantity of white powder believed to be an illegal substance. The find led to further action being taken at the scene.

A 34-year-old woman from Devon has now been reported for drugs offences and is expected to appear before magistrates at a later date.

Dorset Police have not released further details regarding the second female occupant or confirmed the exact nature of the white powder recovered during the search. Enquiries remain ongoing.

The incident forms part of continued patrols targeting suspected drug activity across the county. Officers regularly carry out vehicle stops and searches as part of efforts to disrupt the supply and distribution of illegal substances on Dorset’s roads and within local communities.
