A Poole man has been jailed for a series of rapes of the same female victim.

Kieron Gibson, aged 25 and of Sea View Road, was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 17 November 2023 to seven and a half years in prison after he previously admitted seven charges of rape and an offence of attempted rape.

He was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for an indefinite period.

In March 2021 Gibson’s victim attended Poole police station to report a series of non-recent rapes by the defendant over a five-year period.

The victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted by the defendant on numerous occasions.

She was also able to supply messages from Gibson that appeared to relate to the sexual assaults.

Following a detailed investigation by detectives from Bournemouth CID, Gibson was subsequently charged and appeared at court.

Detective Constable Chloe Riley, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I want to thank the victim in this case for the immense courage she has shown in coming forward to report these offences and for the support she has provided throughout our investigation.

“Through her brave actions, we were able to compile evidence and hold Kieron Gibson to account for these despicable offences.

“Both myself and the victim in this case hope this helps to inspire other victims of rape and sexual offences to find the strength to come forward and report matters to police in the knowledge that they will be fully supported by specially trained officers and that we will thoroughly investigate the offences.”
