Murdered British aid workers, possibly killed with UK arms

The family of British aid worker James Kirby, who tragically lost his life in an Israeli strike in Gaza, is profoundly saddened by his passing.

Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron has urged Israel to expedite its investigation into the strike, which claimed the lives of three British aid workers in Gaza.

Three British aid workers were fatally struck in Gaza by an Israeli airstrike, termed by the IDF as a “grave mistake”. John Chapman, James Kirby, and James Henderson were among seven volunteers from World Central Kitchen who perished after their convoy was targeted.

The most recent updates from the Middle East confirm Israel’s acknowledgment of the error. A statement issued by Mr Kirby’s family expressed their devastation: “As a family, we are utterly heartbroken by the loss of our beloved James. Alongside the other six individuals who tragically lost their lives, he will be remembered as a hero.”

“James comprehended the hazards associated with entering Gaza, drawing from his service in the British Armed Forces, where he valiantly served tours in Bosnia and Afghanistan. Despite the risks, his compassionate nature impelled him to extend assistance to those in dire need.”

“A true gentleman, James was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone, even in the face of senseless violence. We kindly request privacy during this incredibly difficult time as we mourn the loss of our dear James.”

Speaking from Brussels whilst attending a NATO meeting, David Cameron remarked, “We should also extend our condolences to their families, and keep them in our thoughts.”

He continued, “I welcome the Israeli foreign minister’s commitment to a thorough, urgent, and transparent inquiry into this tragic event. We anticipate this investigation to proceed swiftly.”

“I also appreciate the mention of increased aid reaching Gaza, potentially up to 500 trucks a day. This is crucial, as we’ve been assured of such measures before, and they need to materialize, including extended opening hours at critical crossing points.”

“However, the efficacy of additional aid hinges on proper deconfliction and the prevention of incidents akin to those witnessed in recent days. This is imperative, and Britain will closely monitor these developments to ensure their fruition.”

In addition to the British casualties, Australian Lalzawmi ‘Zomi’ Frankcom, Palestinian national Saifeddin Issam Ayad Abutaha, Damian Sobol from Poland, and dual US-Canadian citizen Jacob Flickinger also lost their lives in the attack.

The trio of British nationals were part of the charity workers’ security detail. Following the tragedy, the Liberal Democrats have called for the UK to suspend its arms agreements with Israel.

Sir Ed Davey, the party’s leader, remarked, “It is completely unacceptable to entertain the notion that British-made arms could be employed in such strikes. The government must promptly halt arms exports to Israel. We must intensify our efforts to secure an immediate bilateral ceasefire.”

Labour’s shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, in an interview, asserted, “Aid workers must be shielded from harm. They should not perish in such circumstances. Therefore, inquiries must be made into how this tragedy unfolded. That is the least the families deserve.”

Even Richard Madeley agrees that it is murder

Israeli despots show no remorse and continue lying

UK as guilty as a puppy next to a pile of poo?

Three months ago:

If the UK had stopped selling murder to Israel, the aid workers may still be alive, and the families… would not have to grieve.

It is not only the Israeli regime that should be prosecuted in the Hague, but also those who armed them.
