Following fantastic public demand it has been announced that award-winning comedian Adam Kay will return to Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, on Thursday 13 June to play a second night with his new show, This Is Going To Hurt (Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor).

The show, which also plays Lighthouse on Tuesday 4 June, was an absolute sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe for three years running in 2016, 2017 and 2018, before going out on a full UK tour and returning to the West End last year.

The accompanying book, This is Going to Hurt, is a Sunday Times bestseller and is being made into a major BBC series. Copies will be available to buy and for signature after the performance at Lighthouse.

Adam’s show has won widespread praise for interspersing horror stories from the NHS frontline with blissfully brilliant wordplay and some sublimely silly spoof songs, prompting fellow comedian Charlie Brooker to describe it as: “Hilarious and heartbreaking.”
