With the long-awaited Christmas Tree Wonderland now in place, illuminating Bournemouth’s historic Lower Gardens, residents and visitors are making the most of the Alpine Market and Lodge in the town centre – back this year bigger and better than ever before!

As well as setting the scene for the resort’s magical new winter attraction, the market has returned with a wide range of traders offering festive wares and delicious street food, and the Alpine Lodge at its centre brings brand new features for Christmas 2018.

Encompassing all the features of a traditional mountain ski lodge, this year’s two-storey lodge comes complete with a new outdoor balcony for viewing the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth Square, as well as plenty of cosy indoor seating across two floors.

The lodge is set to host a series of fantastic festive events over the Christmas period. Challenge your mind while winning fantastic cash prizes with a weekly interactive quiz night every Tuesday, starting 20 November. Or relax and unwind from your Christmas shopping at the Sunday – a great opportunity to enjoy live acoustic performances from talented local acts.

The lodge also offers a delectable après-ski-inspired drinks menu, including traditional spiced mulled wine and toffee apple cider with a dash of rum, guaranteed to warm you up on a cold winter’s day.

Every Thursday, the Alpine Bar will be hosting a Happy Hour between 4pm and 7pm – enjoy a favourite tipple or try something new as the specials change weekly.

This year the Alpine Lodge has partnered up with Bisou De Vin to create the ultimate sharing board. With a delicious range of artisan meats and cheeses, it makes the perfect party package for sharing with friends, family or colleagues.

Great news for foodies – all festive street food purchased from within the Christmas market can now be enjoyed within the Alpine Lodge, on the second floor. So, it’s possible to pick up loaded fries, Yorkshire pudding wraps, traditional Bratwurst, melting Raclette cheese, specialist vegan delights, hot and fresh churros and so much more in comfort and accompanied with an ice cold stein or mulled wine.

This festive season, come and meet Santa in the enchanting Christmas Grotto located in the heart of Bournemouth Gardens.

Be immersed in the magic of the grotto filled with imagination and wonder. Meet the man himself and tell him what’s on your Christmas wish list. Each little visitor will receive a magical gift and a treasured family photo – creating memories that will last a life time.

The alpine market, lodge and grotto are part of Bournemouth’s wider festive offering including Christmas Tree Wonderland, here until January 2. To find out more, go to www.christmastreewonderland.co.uk.
