A second man has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision near Ashley Heath.

A collision occurred at around 9.25pm on Thursday 15 June 2023 around 300 metres before the Ashley Heath Roundabout on the northbound carriageway of the A338. It involved a Nissan Micra and a Lexus GS300.

Very sadly, the front seat passenger of the Nissan Micra, 31-year-old George Greaves from Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other occupants from the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Yusuf Muzil, aged 23 and of Cricklewood in London, was the driver of the Lexus and was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 29 September 2023 to 12 years in prison after admitting causing death by dangerous driving and two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Witnesses to the collision reported seeing the Lexus and two other vehicles all travelling at speeds in excess of 80mph in the moments leading up to the collision.

Following ongoing enquiries to identify the suspected drivers of the other vehicles involved, a 29-year-old man from London has now been arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and two offences of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has also been charged with fraudulent use of a registration mark or registration document and causing death by driving a vehicle with no insurance or where the driver is unlicensed.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 November 2023.
