Award netted by council staff

Council staff have achieved a national award for customer services.

Revenue and Benefits staff from West Dorset District Council, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council and Purbeck District Council have succeeded in gaining the Government’s Customer Service Excellence Standard award.

The Government’s national award for excellent customer services, which was won by South Dorset Revenues & Benefits Partnership, looks at delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and staff attitude. Research has shown that these are key areas for successful customer service.

Councillor Anthony Alford, Chairman of the Partnership Board said: “We are proud to have such committed staff and for them to be recognised for their efforts is great news.

“I would like to congratulate staff and thank them for their skill, talent and dedication towards providing the best possible service for residents.”

Councillor Gary Suttle, Leader of Purbeck District Council said: “Providing excellent customer service is vital and has helped us develop a successful and innovative partnership. This award is a wonderful achievement for the partnership”

Councillor Colin Huckle, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Finance and Assets Briefholder said: “Well done to staff, a thoroughly deserved award for their great efforts, this is a brilliant example of three councils working effectively together”

West Dorset District Council and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council have been working in partnership to deliver revenues and benefits services for the people of south Dorset since 2006. Purbeck District Council joined the South Dorset Revenues & Benefits Partnership in 2009.
