Ben Lane, who has been interim Vice Principal of Weymouth College since August 2015, will take up the post with immediate effect.

The Chair of Governors, David Fallows confirmed that the governors had been unanimous in their decision to appoint Mr Lane.

Nigel Evans, Principal said:  “Iam so very pleased that Ben will be continuing to work alongside me.  Hisastute and measured financial acumen has been instrumental in guiding the College through the Structure and Prospects Appraisal process, out of administered status and to a ‘Good’ Ofsted grade across the board”.

 Ben Lane said he was extremely pleased to accept the appointment:

“I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue to support the College as we move forward into what promises to be an exciting and dynamic future”.

Ben grew up on Portland attending The Royal Manor School.   After being accepted on a youth training scheme with Dorset County Council, he attended Weymouth College as a student, studying for A Levels, BTECs and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications.

Ben has worked for the Borough of Poole, Poole NHS Trust, Southampton City Council and the Dorset Probation Trust before returning to Weymouth College in October 2013 as Director of Finance.
