Black BMW Driver Sought Following Serious Incident in Weymouth

Officers investigating a road related incident that left a man seriously injured in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Monday, 4 May 2026, in Rodwell Road near the traffic lights at the junction with Westwey Road.

It was reported that a man aged in his 60s approached a black BMW 116D Sport and had a verbal altercation with the driver of the vehicle.

His arm was inside the vehicle when he was subsequently dragged several metres along the road.

It was reported that the BMW then drove off, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

Police Constable Sonny Scadden, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out detailed enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling in the area around the relevant time and have dashcam to please review their footage for anything that might assist us.”
