Police Officer Injured Following Incident in West Parley

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward after a vehicle failed to stop in West Parley.

At around 12:35pm on Thursday, 30 April 2026, officers requested a blue BMW 320d to stop in Christchurch Road after it was suspected of being driven with no insurance.

The vehicle failed to stop and it was further reported that it intentionally drove at a police motorbike before making off in the direction of Bournemouth Airport.

Police Sergeant Dan Yates, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Thankfully, the officer did not sustain any serious injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing to locate the vehicle and identify the driver.

“I would urge anyone who was in the area of Parley Cross and saw what happened to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any motorists with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260062081. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
