Bournemouth’s summer season of events is in full swing with loads of entertainment, activities and events throughout the holidays for all the family.

A summer favourite for many, the Friday Family Fireworks nights return to Bournemouth Pier and Seafront today. Friday Family Fireworks is free at Bournemouth Seafront on these Fridays through the summer – 31st July, 7th, 14th and 28th August.

Tomorrow we will have a special treat as Phil Crosby Jr, legendary crooner Bing Crosby’s son, will be singing with The Mellor Sisters at OnStage at Pier Approach between 3-5pm. So come along for a classic sing-a-long.

Back with another exciting schedule, OnStage at Pier Approach will be bringing you a host of free music, dance and theatre entertainment for all the family to enjoy. With everything from Zumba lessons to tea dances, along with performances across the musical spectrum, there’s something to suit every taste. OnStage at Pier Approach is free and runs through until 10th August – see full programme below.

Kids Family Fun is two weeks of free kids entertainment starting next week with games, entertainers, dance and activities there’s lots to keep little ones entertained. Kids Family Fun is free in the Lower Gardens from 3rd – 16th August – see full programme below.

Candlelight Nights is the chance for you to come down to enjoy one of Bournemouth’s oldest traditions as the award winning Lower Gardens are transformed by thousands of tealights. The candles are lit at dusk with displays representing anything from animals to cartoon characters, providing a truly magical evening. Tapers available from the crazy golf kiosk and the bandstand. Candlelight Nights is free in the Lower Gardens every Wednesday between 5th – 26th August, from 8pm.

Luna Cinema brings the big screen to Bournemouth beach from 13th – 16th August. The country’s leading producer in open air cinema events, Luna Cinema, brings screenings of four movie classics to Pier Approach. By using state of the art screens, digital projectors and bespoke sound equipment, you can enjoy a cinema quality experience with the beautiful backdrop of Bournemouth beach! Councillor Laurence Williams, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Arts, said; “We’re very pleased to be able to provide the OnStage Entertainment at Pier Approach for another year. It’s part of an exciting programme being offered in Bournemouth this summer, with something to suit all ages. Next Friday sees the return of Friday Family Fireworks, along with the ever-popular Kids Fun Festival from 3rd – 16th August. Candlelight Night returns on 5th August, running every Wednesday until 26th August and new for 2015 is the open-air Luna Cinema which arrives on Pier Approach from 13th – 16th August, offering attendees the chance to watch a family favourite film with the beautiful backdrop of Bournemouth beach. Of course, the summer highlight for many is Bournemouth Air Festival which promises another action packed schedule when it returns for its eighth year from 20th – 23rd August.”
