Officers investigating a number of thefts on Portland are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward.

It is reported that at around 9.45pm on Saturday 14 January 2023 a man entered a van that was parked in Fancys Close before being disturbed by residents.

A further report was received that an attempt was made to break into a van that was parked in the same road overnight between Saturday 14 January and Sunday 15 January 2023.

During the same evening, security lights were stolen from a garden, as well as items from a vehicle in Fancys Close.

Police Constable Billy Taylor, of Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into these incidents to identify the offender.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please come forward.

“Also, if you have a doorbell camera or home CCTV system in the vicinity, I would ask you to please check your footage for anything of relevance on the night of the incidents.”
