Officers investigating an assault on a man in Poole are issuing a CCTV image of the suspect.

At around 7pm on Saturday 23 February 2019 a man drove to Tesco Express on The Quay and parked his car directly outside.

He went into the store and began talking to a member of staff. A short time later the suspect entered the store, barged past the member of staff, pushed the victim in the chest, grabbed him and threw him to the ground. The suspect then shouted in the man’s face claiming that the victim had nearly run over him and his family.

The suspect then slapped the victim in the face and kicked his leg. The victim – a local 19-year-old man – sustained bruising.

Police Constable Luke Taylor, of Poole police, said: “We have carried out an investigation into this incident and no evidence has been located to support the suspect’s claims.

“I am keen to identify the man pictured to speak to him as part of my enquiries. I would ask anyone who knows who this man is to please contact Dorset Police.”
