No doubt he will explain in due course and he appears to care not one jot that he is fast becoming one of the most unpopular politicians in the country, but this appears at first sight to be well beyond the pale even for him.

Given his track record and what now appears to be justified accusations that he is merely an opinionated bigot, voted in by mostly elderly people in care homes who have long since lost the will to reason, it is perhaps time that those same voters became atheists (if they are not already) as St Peter (or whoever the gatekeeper might be) will need a nappy if they expect to get in anywhere mellow.

I genuinely hope he comes up with a great reason that makes sense to us all, but I doubt it.
