Community celebrates official opening of M&S Foodhall Ferndown

The new M&S Foodhall in Ferndown officially opened its doors today (Wednesday 6th July), welcoming customers in to the new store for the very first time. The Foodhall was opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony held by M&S employees and the Mayor of Ferndown, and was observed by local residents who queued outside, ready to browse the shelves for the very best of M&S food.

The opening of the Foodhall has brought nearly 50 new jobs to the local area and the team has already committed to working with local charity, Hope for Food.

Graeme Todd, Store Manager at M&S Foodhall Ferndown, said: “Today’s store launch has been a fantastic event and an excellent opportunity for me and my team to meet the local community and Mayor, and welcome them into our new store.

“We’ve been eagerly awaiting the opening of the Foodhall and as the finishing touches have been added to the store, excitement has been rapidly building. The store has opened just in time for the summer holidays, which is a great excuse for customers to try our new Spirit of Summer range; perfect for a BBQ, picnic in the park or relaxing summer dinner party with friends.

“We look forward to continuing to meet the local residents and settling into the town over the coming months, along with starting our charity activity with local charity Hope for Food.”

Councillor Mike Parkes, The Mayor of Ferndown, added: “The M&S Foodhall is a great new addition to the town of Ferndown and myself and the local community alike have been fervently anticipating the opening of the store. It has been a privilege to open the store today and see the enjoyment and enthusiasm from the first customers passing through its doors.I’m sure the community of Ferndown will continue to embrace the new store and enjoy all the benefits it will bring to the town.”

The store is located at 296 Ringwood Road, Ferndown, Dorset, BH22 9AS and will be open 8:00am – 8:00pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am – 4:00pm on Sundays.
