This Saturday (29th March) sees the first Dorset People’s Assembly and the first opportunity for the people of the county to express their anxieties and/or opposition to the Coalition government’s austerity programme. Many other counties have or are about to hold mass meetings containing voters of all the parties who believe that the policies being adopted are punishing the wrong people. The strong feelings being expressed are that it is not only unfair to penalise those who are the most vulnerable but that the blame and the solutions should be aimed at those who created the economic mess not those who are already its primary victims.

If you are against the scale of the austerity and you or people you know are being treated unjustly then come along and share your experiences and work with others to find alternatives. There will be local and national speakers as well as plenty of opportunities to discuss and ask questions.

The meeting is being held at The Dorford Centre in Dorchester from 14.00 to 17.30 and all are welcome.
