A wonderful gesture by a Sherborne B&B owner will hopefully ignite similar responses across the UK. As reported by the BBC Malcolm Heygate-Browne, of the Bakehouse in Sherborne, said he found reports of racism and xenophobia “incredibly sad and depressing”. He is offering free stays to European passport holders outside the UK on Sundays in July and August as a thank you for everything they have contributed across the county and beyond.

He should be celebrated and that is exactly what we hope others will do.
