FRIDAY 29th March

Lo Numbers (Finns, Westham Road, Weymouth DT4 8NU): Impassioned deliveries of the works of TheKinks, Small Faces, Creation, The Who and more.

Rapport (Weld Arms, East Lulworth, Dorset, BH20 5QQ): Rapport is fronted by Graham Dee, whose remarkable musical career has included session work alongside Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones and playing with the likes of Memphis Slim, John Lee Hooker, Carl Perkins and Van Morrison. Stereoironics (Royal Exchange, Weston, Portland DT5 2BZ): Weymouth’s own Stereophonics tribute act take the show to Jess’s wondrous boozer.

Tripod (Golden Lion, St Edmund Street, WeymouthDT4 8AR): Mark Davis’s power trio returns to the Tin Cat.

Fat Marrow Blues Band (Ropemakers, West Street, Bridport DT6 3QP): Slick, polished urban blues and original material.

Jack & A Box (Stalbridge Arms, Ring Street, Stalbridge DT10 2NF):Featuring the Drunk Guitar and the T-Total Tea-Chest Bass, Jack & A Box play upbeat Johnny Cash, Americana and Irish numbers.

Chloe & Tom(Aura Café Bar, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DQ): After winter hibernation, Chloe and Tom are back with three gigs in Weymouth this Easter weekend.

The Rude & Obnoxious Heckler’s Ball (Brownsword Hall, Pummery Square, Poundbury, Dorchester DT1 3GW): This event is sold out.

Ben Montague (Mr Kyps, Parr Street, Ashley Cross, Lower Parkstone, Poole BH14 0JY): If the name Ben Montague sounds familiar, that would be because you heard his debut single ‘Haunted’ which became a major radio hit two years ago. At the time Ben didn’t have a record deal or an album to his name. Fast forward to 2012 and Ben, with a label behind him, was ready to launch his debut album ‘Tales of Flying and Falling.’ Doors open at 8pm; admission is £10 in advance or £13 on the door. Amy Mayes Band (Summer Saturday Live Stage, South Street, Dorchester): Let’s all hope for temperatures significantly above freezing as Amy and her hot band get soulful and funky from 2pm.

The Leggomen/Surfin’ Birds(Lazy Lizard, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DG): Surf yourself into Leggo-land.

Nathan-Jon & The Unpredictables (Belvedere Inn, High Street, WeymouthDT4 8JH): We are promised epic pop tunage.

The Devil’s Rejects(White Swan, The Square, High Street, Swanage BH19 2LT): Punk, punk and more punk.

Jack & A Box(Brewer’s Arms, Martinstown, nearDorchester, Dorset DT2 9LB): This Sturminster Newton-based duo (Jack English on vocals, guitar and banjo and Ben Court on tea-chest bass and vocals) plays everything from Johnny Cash to Mumford & Sons.

SUNDAY 31st March

Amy Mayes/Band/Cosmic Slop/Electric Bucket/Stereoironics/Operation Mad Hatters/Hustle/Leggomen/Chloe & Tom/Danny Adams/Tom Caulfield/Lauren Bannon (Lazy Lizard, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DG): Optimistically billed as The First Sign of Summer, this celebration of our ferociously-fecund live music scene starts at 3pm.

Skint Imperials(Golden Lion, St Edmund Street, WeymouthDT4 8AR): Three-part harmony enriched covers from Peggy Lee to The Animals, Bob Dylan to Snow Patrol. Music from 7pm.

Nobody’s Heroes (Woods Wine Bar, Middle Street, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 1LU):

Old skool punk, New Wave, rock, indie and original material.
Chloe & Tom (Aura Café Bar, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DQ):Following their set at The Lizard at around 4pm, this excellent duo will be playing here from 6pm.

Jamie Pinnow’s Open Mic Surgery – The Apple Tree sessions(Apple Tree, Trinity Street, DorchesterDT1 1TT): Jamie will be fielding all requests here every Sunday, from 3pm until 6pm.

Solid Gold Duo (Central Hotel, Esplanade, WeymouthDT4 8EB): Pop covers from this duo, here every Sunday night.

MONDAY 1st April

Stiff Little Fingers/Ed Tudor Pole(Electric Palace, South Street, BridportDT6 3NY): This event, featuring two of the biggest names in the punk/new wave movement, replaces the cancelled concert here last November, and those holding tickets for that event can use their tickets tonight. There are also tickets available at £18 plus a small booking fee in advance from www.seetickets.com, Bridport Tourist Information Centre on 01308 424901 or £20 on the door if available. No admittance for under-14s, and under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.

FNUK (Beacon Hotel, Beacon Road, Bournemouth BH2 5DB): A weekly funk session featuring some serious jazz/funk heavyweights in Ian Ellis (sax), Gianni Chiarello (guitar), Pat Davey (bass) and Dave Mayne (drums). Music from 8.30pm; free admission.

Mr Bucket(Lazy Lizard, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DG):Toby and Phil are here every Monday night.

Andy C(Three Horseshoes, Dugberry Hill, Powerstock, near Bridport DT6 3TF): It’s Andy Collett of Gut & Steel/Tempo/Let Me Out fame, going solo for the first time to my knowledge. Neil Young to Bob Marley, Tom Petty to Pink Floyd.

Michael Roberts (Hotel Mon Ami, Esplanade, WeymouthDT4 7NN): Saxophones, flute, harmonica and vocals from Michael, here every Monday night.

Pete Howell (Russell Hotel, Esplanade, WeymouthDT4 7NG): A singalong with Pete and his accordion here every Monday night.

TUESDAY 2ndApril

TomToomey & Jamie Pinnow (Boot Inn, High Street, WeymouthDT4 8JH): Zombies guitarist Tom joins Jamie the Dinnerlady.

Acoustically Acclaimed (Lazy Lizard, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DG): Tom Morris hosts this weekly acoustic jam session. Music from 10pm.

WEDNESDAY 3rd April

Dave Bowen & his Jazz Friends (Three Compasses, Charminster DT2 9QT): Tenor sax and clarinet virtuoso Dave and jazzular buddies make their regular monthly appearance at Terry’s gaff.

Lazy Lizard Jam Session(Lazy Lizard, Esplanade, Weymouth DT4 8DG):Funkmeisters Cosmic Slop host this weekly session, with full backline provided.

Tia(No.10 Bistro, East Street, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 3LF).

Tom Caulfield(Boho Bar, St Thomas Street, WeymouthDT4 8EQ): Gritty, blues-infected original material covers from Tom. You can catch him here every Wednesday night.
